Well, the year has started off with great Family Nights last week.  Thanks, to all the parents who came.  It means a lot to the kids when there parents come to class--it shows them what your priorities are. I know the afternoon time is hard for the parents but if you can come it makes those nights even better!

The catechists have been singing the praises of your children.  I really love 7th grade mindset.  They are open and willing to give themselves over to the teachings of the night. We do our best to answer their questions and teach them how to look at our world through 'the eyes of faith'.

This week's teachings are the Diocesan curriculum on chastity.  Last week I reviewed the curriculum with the parents.  I am going to give you the link to the parent letter and the lesson plans including info on social networking and  the internet.  I hope it helps you to understand the Catholic teaching for a 7th grader.  This teaching reflects John Paul II's teaching on Theology of the Body.  This large teaching given to us by JP II helps us to understand who we are created to be and as we learn about how it applies to every stage of our life we will better understand the plan God has for us.  If your student was not at class this week I need you to fill out the 'opt out' form and indicate whether you will be teaching the curriculum at home.  Then submit the form at the next class.
